Orttaai’s speech recognition runs on your Mac. It uses microphone access to capture dictation and Accessibility and Input Monitoring permissions for shortcuts and placing text at the cursor. Dictation history and personal memory features are stored locally.
Downloads and optional services
Installing models, checking for updates, and downloading releases involves requests to the download providers. These providers receive ordinary request information, such as your IP address. Speech recognition itself works offline once a model is installed. If you explicitly enable an optional external integration, the information you choose to send is handled under that service’s policies; review the integration’s consent information before using it.
Your control
Manage transcription history and models in the app. Permissions can be revoked in macOS System Settings. The source code and documentation explain the app’s local storage and features.
